Kudzu Festival Parade
Questions or comments? Let us know!

Sunday September 25th
4:00 pm
After spending a fun-filled weekend at the Kudzu Festival, find a spot along Jonathan Street or along the outer edges of the IGA parking lot for the parade. There's always room to sit next to the portapotties!
This year's parade will feature:
  • Traditional bagpipe music performed by the Blythewood Scottsmen Cross Pipes and Drums dressed in their traditional Scottish kudzu grown kilts with their rendition of 'Oh, Beautiful Kudzu'
  • The crazy antics of the ever popular Kudzu Festival Clowns
  • Antique cars, trucks and tractors
  • Kudzu Themed Floats
Local celebrities including
  • our Grand Marshals, Miss Queen of Kudzu the Festival, Bubbles Rampley the current Blythewood Teenage Beauty Queen and
  • local government officials
  • A genuine calliope drawn by a two-mule team
  • Jugglers Music by the Blythewood Banjo Band Beautiful with their rendition of "Oh, Beautiful Kudzu"
  • Retired racing greyhounds looking for a home
Just read about it from this Blythewood citizen:
"Kudzu - we support it, we appreciate it and we're just trying to make it a happy thing! Of course we do have the Kudzu Parade, with the Kudzu Queen and her court which will be there. They're all together there with their kudzu outfits on. The Kudzu Queen has had the same outfit and it done lasted for five years. And it keeps growing longer and longer, so you got to have more people to hold the train of it up."
